The Second World War by Winston Churchill, containing The Gathering Storm (I), Their Finest Hour (II), The Grand Alliance (III), The Hinge of Fate (IV), Closing the Ring (V), & Triumph and Tragedy (VI). The volumes were printed to Economy Standard after the Second World War. Each volume is finely bound by Sangorski & Sutcliffe, London. Considered to be one of the most influential and important binderies of the 20th Century, this set is unique in their blue half morocco binding. Bound with beautiful blue marbled endpapers. Spine titles are gilt, with all top edges gilt as well as gilt lining on the covers.

The pages and text itself is clean and readable, with no faults to speak of. The spines of each volume are somewhat faded. Leather covers and gilt edges have a few small scuffs, with the cloth having some slight dirt marks throughout. In all a very handsome set of Churchill’s most famous work.
